The Sania Mania

The name ‘Sania’ qualifies for the most printed and uttered name in Inida media during the last couple of months. No authorized analysis has been made yet it’s just my conjecture. From the time she reached third round at the last Australian open, every magazine made sure that they have at least one column on her daily. Its really good news that an Indian lass has done a great job than her predecessors. The crowd at WTA open, Hyderabad exemplifies that she has got a massive fan club. After seeing the crowd I was perplexed. Are there these many tennis loving ppl in India? My god where have you been all these period? If all those ppl are lovers of tennis then it is really a good sign for Indian tennis. Is this true? I don't feel so. Give some more time for her in international circuit to come up the ladder. The other side of “Black”

Last Friday was a Black one. We went for the movie Black. It was an impromptu action by my roommate who appears to be a supporter of Bhansali.I accepted his invite half-heartedly because I don’t fancy hard movies on weekends. Of course I am mad about hard love stories anytime. (Vayasu appadi!).The one liner of the film is – Feelings of a Michelle (Rani) who is deaf, dumb and blind and the teacher Debraj Sahai (Amitabh) who takes care of her. The entire crew has toiled. Especially the kid – Ayesha Kapur and the Cameraman Ravi K.Chandran deserve applause. Still I didn’t like the movie. There were few occasions that were predictable you could say cinematic. For e.g., when the teacher says dreams are about what you see, Michelle opposes saying it’s about mind. Everyone in the class claps (uh...).When Michelle asks for a kiss in her lips why Debraj did that. What is the point Mr.Bhansali want to prove here? Ya its fine that he wants to capture all the feelings of Michelle. Will any teacher do it? This is incongruous. Michelle McNally thanks all while getting graduation. This recaps the scene which Nana patekar did in Khamoshi.For Bhansali’s caliber he could hv thought a different method for this. Finally Debraj suffers from Alzheimer’s and Michelle helps him. My only guess that failed is that the climax arrived half an hour late. Technically they have tried few new things and succeeded to an extent. No songs, the backgrounds to be in sync with the characters mind. For this the film will be screened at many International film festivals. Many metro people have praised this movie. And this illustrates that I am not in same terms with them. Metro people please don’t take that others doesn’t like quality movies. We are in different world. For the first few minutes I thought this was an English movie. What is the need for lengthy English dialogues? Its definitely not a Friday night movie, may be Sunday afternoon in DD would be fine. To have completely different picture about Black, read this review…Let me know ur comments also.

Great Way to do Business

Yet another instance to learn what a customer care really means. Couple of days back we ordered pizza at Dominoes here at Edmonds. The hand over time is usually max. of 45 mins. It took one hour this time. Now we have got a mail from them stating their apology for late delivery and also a $2 rebate on our next order! We didn’t even complain to them abt the delay. By this they made sure that they value their word and it is not just a false promise. This activity gives chances to the following events:

They might retain the customer.
They might get the next order.
They make sure that if they fail to meet their Service Level Agreement (SLA) they loose $2 on the next order.

I decisively feel that this is the way to do a business. Is there any Indian firm taking care of customers like this? If yes I would be pleased about them. To know how customer cares in India works check these blogs from Sowmya and Reflex. I am not trying to promote American business. My point is to illustrate how best a business can be and should be done.
